The best compressor is a running compressor. Making sure your compressor is properly maintained is essential to keeping it running. These easy and simple steps will help the longevity of your air compressor and ensure it is running efficiently.
Oil Level

Make sure there are adequate amounts of lubricant/oil inside the compressor. Oil or lubricant does a few things for your compressor. First, it acts as a coolant, keeping your compressor from overheating. It lubricates all of the bearings and moving parts.
Coolers

Your coolers play a vital role in removing heat from your unit and moving it into another space. Make sure there is proper flow going through the cooler. If there isn’t good flow then the cooler will need to be blown out with compressed air or vacuumed. If once that is done and the unit is still running hot or shutting down it may be time to call us.
Belts/coupling

Check the belt tension. A loose belt will start to slip and cause premature failure. If you are unsure how to check the tension give us a call. If you have a coupling a visual inspection is all you will need to do. With the unit off inspect the coupling for cracking, splitting, or missing pieces. A coupling that is failing will cause vibration which can cause damage to other components in the unit if gone undetected.
